955 RES CITY COUNCIL ON 28TH DAY OF NOVEMBER 1960 BY RES NO 942 OFFERED TO ROBERT P CHANCELLOR $15,000RESOLUTION NO. 955
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did, on the 28th day
of November, 1960, by Resolution No. 942, offer to Robert P. Chancellor
of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the sum of $15, 000. 00 cash, for the buildino
and Lots 1 and 2 in Half Block 5 of the City of Paris, located immediately
South of the present City Hall, in the City of Paris, on the South Side of
East Kaufman Street; and,
WHEREAS, Robert P. Ghancellor has agreed to accept the sum of
$15, 000. 00 cash for the purchase of said building and lots; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the expansion of the facilities of the
Water and Sewer I?epartment of the City of Paris to obtain such building;
and,
WHER.EAS, the City Council is of the opinion that it would be to the
present and future welfare of the citizenship of the City of Paris; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL QF THE CITY OF P.hRIS,
That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to purchase said
building for the City of Paris, Texas, and to borrow from The Liberty
National Bank the sum of $15, 000, 00, on a vendorps lien and deed of trust
securing the same, to be repaid July 1, 1961, and he is further authorized
to pay the same on July 1, 1961 and charge the same to 1961-62 Budget
Accourt Noe 801, Billing and Collecting Water and Sewer Account, and the
Mayor of the City of Paris, William C. Ragan, is authorized and directed
to execute a note and deed of trust to The Liberty National Bank in
connection with said transaction.
