M., B5,' THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY QF PARIS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING THE FOLLOWING COUNCILMEN TO SERVE AS MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE ENSUING TWO YEARS, BE IT RESQLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. That an election be held by the qualified voters of the City of Paris on the first Tuesday in April, 19619 same being the 4th day of April, 1961, between the hours of 8:00 oyclock A. M. and 7000 oTClock P. M, , for the purpose of electing three (3) members of the City Council of the City of Paris as follows: Three Councilmen at Large as provided in Section 16 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Paris, adopted on November 2, 1948, and in accordance with Article IX of the Charter of the City of Paris, adopted Noyember 2, 1948, such Councilmen to serve for the ensuing two years. Section 2. That the polling places and election officials of such election shall be as follows: Ward One (1): Polling Place: Central Fire Station Officials; Mrs. R. C. Bearden , Presiding Judge Mr. R. C. Bearden , Judge Mrs. L. B. Killebrew , Clerk Mrs, R. H. Lower s Clerk Ward Two (2): Polling Place: Grand Hotel Lobby Officials: Mrs. Hugh Collins , Presidino Judge Mr, Hugh Collins , Judge Mrs, Bertha Hodges , Clerk Mrs. Elizabeth Tompkins , Clerk Ward Three (3): Pollir_g Place: Lamar Cour_ty Courthouse, Basement Assembly Room. Hollis , Presiding Judge Mrs. A. N. Nolan , Judge Mrs. R. K. Record , Clerk Mrs. Peter Barnett , Clerk Section 3, The Presiding Judge of the respective voting boxes shall designate and appoint such additional, competent and qualified clerks for such respective polling places and voting boxes as may be required, if any, for the efficient conduct of said election. Section 4. Such election shall be held in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas governing general and municipal elections, insofar as the same may be applicable, and with the provisions of the City Charter and Ordinances of the City of Pariso Section 5. The Chief of Police of the City of Paris i.s hereby directed and instructed to post a properly executed Notice of Election pursuant to this order for election, signed by the Mayor of the City of Paris, at each of the polling places designated above, which said notices of election shall by him be posted not less than thirty (30) days prior to said election; further, a properly executed copy of such Notice of Election shall be published one time in the Paris News, the official newspaper of the City of Paris and a newspaper of general circulatioxa in said City, which notice sha,ll be published not less than twenty (2,0) days before said election. Section 6, The pay of the judges and clerks of said eleetion is hereby authorized and esta.blished as follows: $8.00 per day for each judge and clerk; the election judge who delivers the returns of the said election imme- diately after the votes have been counted to the proper office shall be paid an additional sum of $2e 00 for that service, provided also, he shall make return of all election supplies not used when he makes returns of such ele ction. Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris in regular meeting at the City Hall of said City this 13th day of February, A. D., 1961.
