940 RES CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS• 0
RESOLUTION NO, 940.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has heretofore
authorized and directed the City Manager to advertise for bids for one
Triple Combination Pumper Fire Truck; and,
WHEREAS, said bids were advertised for and received at 7:00
otclock P. M., on the l Oth day of October, 1960; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has investigated the bids through its
committee, composed of Natha.n Bell, C. R. Brown, and Arthur Cawthon,
and the committee having referred the matter back to the Council as a
whole, and the Council having considered the bids; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVEI} BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS, Tha,t the bid of Ward LaFrance Truck Corporation, of
Ehnira Heights, New York, for One Model P750A-4 Triple Combination
Pumper Fire Truck, which bid is in the amount of $22, 764.00, with a
trade-in allowance of an old truck belonging to the City of Paris in the
amount of $750. 00, or a tota,l net bid of $22, 014. 00, be declared the
lowest and best bid, and that the same be and the same is hereby
accepted, and the City Mana,ger, H. C. Kennemer, is hereby authorized
to enter into the necessary orders and contract for the purcha.se of said
triple combination pumper fire truck.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Ma.na.ger be, and he is
hereby authorized to pay, upon receipt and accepta.nce of said truck, the
sum of $7, 014. 00, which would lea.ve a balance of $15, 000. 00 due, which
is to be paid in two annua.l insta.llments, the first of which shall be due
and payable one year after the date of such receipt and accepta,nce, in
the amount of $7, 500. 00, and the second payable one year from the date
of the first payment, in the principal sum of $7, 500. 00, which contract
for the deferred balance sha,ll bear interest at the rate of not to exceed
50/o, and tha.t the seller be requested to transfer such note and conditional
sales contract to The Liberty National Bank in Paris, Texas, and that the
City Ma,nager is hereby authorized to make the necessary arrangements
for the transfer of said note and conditional sales contract to The
Liberty National Bank in Pa.ris, Texas, and the financing thereof with
said Bank.
