932 RES BEEN CALLED TO ATTENTION OF CITY COUNCIL THAT WATER PRESSURE IS TOO LOW FOR FIT AND PROPER SERVICEj ~ .
RE50LUTION NO,' 932.
WHEREA S, it has been called to the attention of the City Council
that a condit3on exists in ao far as the water pressure is concerned, in
an area from 19th Street, N. W., and between Bonham Street and
Graha.m Strett, ta 30th Street, N. W., wherein the flow pressure on the
fire hydrante in the are.a and the water presaure of the various peraons
residing in such area irt too low for fit and praper service; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary that stepa be taken immerliately to
remedy the situation, and it has besn recommended to the City Cauncil
and the City Manager and the Pub13.c Warks Department that it is
neccssary to conatruct a ten inch (1011) water ma.in from 19th Street, N.W.,
extending West on Graham Street to 25th Street, N. W., and a six inch
(611) water ma.in fram 27th Street, N. W. to 30th Street, N. W., and also
$ six inch (611) line on 28th Strett, N. W., from Bonha.m Street to Graham
Strect; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has furnished the City
Council with an estimated cost for the materials, pipe, fittings, etc., in
the sum of $13, 178. 89; NOW, THEREFOREy
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CTTY OF PARIS,
TEXA5, Tha.t the City Mana.ger, H. C. Kennemer, be, and hs ig hereby
authorized and directed ta purchase the necessary materi.als and supplies
in the amount of $13, 178.89► and to insta.ll said water lines as afore-
mentioned, using City equipment and City labar, and tha.t the same be
done with reasonable diepatch. That the purchase price of materietls is
to be paid from the Water Bond Fund, as the same was a part and por-
tion of the original proposed Water Distribution System, for which said
bonda were voted.
