RESOLUTION NO, 916 ,

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas, has here-
tofore advertised for bids, to be received at 7:00 orclock P. M„ in the
City Council Room, on April 11, A. D., 1960, for certa,in short wave
radio equipment; and,
WHEREAS, said sealed bids were received and opened by the (:,ity
Counci,l at said time and place, and were by the City Council referrEd to
the City Manager to determine the lowest and best bids which met the
specifcations called for, and the Acting City Manager, H. C. Kennemer,
ha.s recommended that the bid of Motorola Communications and
Electronics Inc., in the amount of $11, 358.90, is the lowest and best
bid for the required equipment; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ZHE CITY aF
PAR.IS, TEXASs That the bid of Motorola Communications arrl
Electronica Inc. be, and it is hereby declared the lowest and best bid
for the equipment specified in the specifications, and the Acting Ci.ty
Mana.ger, H. C. Kennemer, is hereby authorized and directed to enter
into a contract with Motorola Communications and Electronics Inc., for
the purchas•e of such equipment and to ta.ke the necessary steps to seeure
from the Civil Defense Departmext of the United States Government its
participation thereon, on the basis of one-half of the cost of the equip-
ment.
