914 RES CITY COUNCIL LEASED CERTAIN AREA ON LAKE GIBBONS• 0
RESOLUTION NO. 914.
WHEREAS, the City Counca.l of the Gity of Faris has fcr several
years leased a certa.in area on Lake Gibbons to the Red River Valley
Girl Scout Council of Texas, a corporation, for the purpose of main-
taining recreation and camp facilities for the Girl Scouts of America,
located in the Red River Valley Girl Scout Council; and,
WHEREAS, the piers and other portions of the installations in
said area ha.ve become deteriorated to the extent that extensive repairs
are necessary, and becauae of such the Red River Valley Girl Scclut
Council of Texas has requested a renewal of its lease for a longe:r
period of time than has been heretofore granted; and,
WHEREA5, the present lease expires on the lst day of May,
1960; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF'
PARI5, Tha.t the Acting City Ma.nager of the City of Paris, H. C.
Kennemer, be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into a lease for
said properties with the Red River Valley Girl Scout Council of Texas,
a corporation, for a period of five (5) years, beginning May 1, 1960
and continuing for five years from date, with an option to renew said
lease at the expiration of the primary term, for an additional period
of five years by giving notice in writing of its intention to renew said
lease thirty (30) days prior to the expiration of the primary term of
the lease.
