913 RES ELECTION WAS HELD BY QUALIFIED VOTERS OF COP ON 5TH DAY OF APRIL 1960IW A& RESOLUTION NO. 913 . WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of the City of Paris on the 5th day of April, A. D., 1960, for the purpose of voting for and electing four (4) members of the City Council of the City of Paris to serve for the ensuing two (2) years, to-wit; 1. Councilman From Ward One (1) 2. Councilma.n From Ward Two (2) 3. Councilman From Ward Three (3) 4. Councilman From Ward Four (4) WHEREAS, as required by law and directed and provided by the Charter and ordinances of the City of Paris, such election was conducted and held at four (4) specified and designated polling places, that is, one polling place in each of the four (4) wards of said City; and, WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election made by the duly appointed and designated election officials of and for the four (4) respective voting boxes have been duly made to the City Council of the City of Faris, as re- quired by law, which returns, after due and deliberate review and canvass thereof, show the following results of said election, to-wit; (1) IN WARD ONE (1) A TOTAL OF 447_ VOTES WERE CAST AS FOLLOWS: For Councilma.n From Ward One: John M. For Councilma.n From Ward Three: Ralph Beard, 228 votes; Wri.te-in Candidates, votes. For Councilman From Ward Four; Roy C. Glenn, 77 votes; C. L. (Charlie Walker, 117 votes; Aubrey C. Cunningham, 35 votes; Write-in Candidates, votes, NOW, THEREFORE, from the above and foregoing canvass of the returns of the votes in the four (4) respective voting boxes in such election, it: is de- clared and determined that Nathan J. Bell is the person receiving the highest number of votes of the votes cast at such e-lection and a majority of t:he `rotes cast at such election for Councilman From Ward One (1), and was therefore elected to serve as Councilman From Ward One (1) and as a member of the City Council of the City of Paris for the ensuing two (2) years; that Ch.arlie R. Brown is the person receiving the highest number of votes and the majority of the votes cast at such election for Councilman From Ward Two (2), and was therefore elected to serve as Councilman From Ward Two (2) and as a member of the City Council of the City of Paris for the ensuing two (2) years; ithat Ralph Beard is the person receiving the highest number of votes and the majority of the votes cast at such election for Councilman From Ward Three (3), and was therefore elected to serve as Councilman From Ward Three (3) and as a member of the City Council of the City of Paris for the ensuing two (2) years; and that C. L. (Charlie) Walker is the person receiving the highest number of votes and the ma.jority of the votes cast at such election for Councilman From Ward Four (4), and was therefore elected to serve as Councilman From Ward Four (4) and as a member of the City Council of the City of Paris for the ensuing two (2) years. ` Y I ~ • ♦I i Passed and adopted by the una.nimous vote of the City Council of the City of Paris, in special session convened, pursuant to the directiorsof the City Charter of the City of Paris, on this the 13th day of April, A.
