911 RES COP PASSED RES ENTERING INTO JOINT PROJECT WITH TX STATE HIGHWAY DEPT. •
RESOLUTTON NO, 911
WHEREAS, the City of Paris has heretofore passed a resolution.
entering into a joint project with the Texas State Highway Department
for the widening of U. S. Highway 271, being North Ma.in Street out to
the Loop, and for widening Clarksville Street from 24th Street, S. E.
to the City Limit Line, and widening Lamar Avenue from 30th Street,
N. E. to the present City Limit Line; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris has obligated itself to advance the
costs of curb and gutter thereon, in the approximate sum of $41, 500. 00;
an d,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris intends to assess the adjoining pro-
perty owners for said advanced finances; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas State Highway Department is now requesti.ng
deposit of the necessary $41, 500. 00 before letting the contract therefar,
and the City of Paris does not have the same in the Street Assessment
Fund; and,
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has advised the City Council tha.t he has
available in the Water Building Fund the sum of $7, 500. 00 and in the
Water Contract Fund the amount of $34, 000. 00; NOW, THEREFORE=
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CTTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARTS, TEXAS, That the City Clerk, H. C. Kennemer, be, and he is
hereby authorized to borrow from the Water Building Fund the sum of
$7, 500. 00 and from the Water Contract Fund the sum of $34, 000. 00,
and to place the same in the Street Assessment Fund, in order to make
the necessary pe.yment to the Texas Sta.te Highway Department, and the
City Clerk is further authoitized and directed to repe.y said loan from the
street assessment payments when made and as the same are ma.de.
