843 RES CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZED CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS

• 0 RESOLUTION N0. 843 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has heretofore authorized the City Manager to advertise for bids, to be received at the regular Council Meeting of the City Council at 7:00 o'clock P. M., on December 8, 1958, for the purchase of two (2) new police cars, with trade in of two of the present cars used by the Police Department; and, WHEREAS, such advertisements have been made, and bids were received on the 8th day of December, A. D., 1958 by the City Council; and, WHEREASt Crawford Motor Company of Paris, Texas, bid for two (2) police cars as per specifications, with automatic transmission, a net bid of $2,374.00, and the Lamar Chevrolet Company bid for two (2) police cars as per specifications, with automatic transmissionp less trade inp a net bid of $2t409.62t and the Howerton Motor Company of Paris, Texas, bid on two (2) police cars as per speci- fications, with aatomatic transmission, less trade in, a net bid of $2,395.00; and, WHEREAS9 a committee was appointed, composed of Nathan Bellp Charlie Brown, and J. M. Gladden, to consider the bids received; and, WHEFlEAS, Crawford Motor Caapany has furnished a one year guarantee on the Porver Flite automatic transmission, and the Committee has recommended that the bid of Crawford Motor Company be declared the lowest and best bid, and that the same be accepted by the City of Paris; NOW, THERHFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY GniNCIL GF II-iE CITY OF PARIS, That the bid of Crawford Motor Company for two (2) Fordor Power Flite Plymoeath Sedansg wiih automatic transmission, said transmission guaranteed as aforesaidp in the amount of $2,374.00, be, and the same is hereby declared the lowest and best bid, and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to purchase said two (2) Fordor Sedans immediately.
