794 RES CITY COUNCIL ADVISED DESIGNING ENGINEER CONSTRUCT SPILLWAY AND DAM ON LAKE CROOKa i
RESOLUTION N0. 794 .
WHEREAS, the City Council, which was in office in the
year 1923, at the time Lake Crook was in the process of con-
struction, advised the designing engineer, Colonel Hawley, to
construct the spillway and dam on Lake Crook so that additional
height could be added without substantially altering the over-
all design of the Lake. The present City Council has been
aware of this design feature for many years and is prepared and
able to add an additional height of three feet to the spillway,
which will provide additional storage of 3600 acre feet of
water, at any time when the need therefor is required. Engi-
neering studies reveal that the raising of the spillway and dam
can be completed within twelve months. Studies made of the run
off factors in the Lake Crook Water Shed show that sufficient
water will be available to fill this additional storage space
each year.
