TEXAS, UPON THE <br />DEATH OF THE HONORABLE T. w10RGAN CROOK, AXD PASSED <br />BY THE COUNCIL AT A MEETING HLLD ON APRIL 14, 1958 <br />The death of J. Morgan Crook on March 102 1958, brought <br />to a close the life of one of the most revered and highly respected <br />men which this city and county have known. The City of Paris wa.s <br />thereby deprived of Mr. Crookts greatly needed leadership, which <br />could have been counted upon in the future with certainty, as it <br />had been in the past. <br />Mr. Crook served the City of Paris as Mayor for sixteen <br />years. His foresight and vision prompted him to lead the city in <br />the building of Lake Crook, which continues to stand as a monument <br />to his wisdom. rir. Crook proved himself to be both wise and just <br />in the many complex matters which he and the city faced. He had <br />a profound knowledge of huma,n nature and was diligent, conscientious <br />and completely devoted to his official duties. All of these <br />qualities of chaxacter and manp more endeared Mr. Crook to all who <br />knew him. <br />The members of the City Council of Paris, Texa.s, together <br />with all others who knew Mr. Crook, are deeply conscious of the great <br />loss suffered by this city, the community as a whole, and themselves <br />personally.
