783 RES CITY COUNCIL HAS KNOWLEDGE OF AND HAS BEEN INFORMED OF HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL SEASON0 &
RESOLUTION N0.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has knowledge of and has
been informed of the highly successful season enjoyed by the Blossom High School
Basketball Team; and,
WHEREAS, among other accomplishments for this season, it was not defeated
in thirty-nine (39) consecutive basketball games; and,
WHEREAS, in the State Tournament recently held in Austin, Texas, it was
the winner of the State Class B Championship for the State of Texas; and,
IqHEREAS, the teamwork and coaching of the Blossom High School Basketball
Team have received such favorable comment among the press and the peoples of
Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the basketball team and coach are located in a neighbor city of
the City of Paris' and within the same county as the City of Paris2 and the City
Council of the City of Paris takes pride in the accomplishments of this splendid
team and coach; N04Y, Tl-iEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY QDUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That it show
its appreciation of the fine accomplishments of the Blossom High School Basketball
Team and its Coach, Bill Essary, by spreading in its Book of Resolutions this
tribute to a splendid team and coach, and that a copy of this resolution be fur-
nished to the High School of Blossom, Texas, and one to Coach Essary for the
splendid season enj07ed by his team and by him.
