781 RES DENT TRUST CO MADE APPLICATION WITH DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS FOR BUILDING PERMIT0
RESOLUTION M.
•
WHtREAS, Dent Trust Company, by and through its President, Frank L.
Dent, has heretofore made application with the Director of Public Works of
the City Engineer's Office for a building permit to erect a building at the
South West intersection of Blake Road and Fitzhugh Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, upon the same property there has for many years existed a
building which was used for a washateria and a retail store; and,
YVHEREAS, the same was in bad state of repair, and the Dent Trust
Company, by and through its duly authorized officers, had torn down the old
building and proposed to erect a new and modern building for the purpose of
operating a coin-operated washateria and beauty parlor; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department of the City of Paris was unable
to issue the permit requested by Dent Trust Company, because of the property
having been non-conforming and having been materially and structurally
altered or enlarged; and,
WHEREAS, the Dent Trust Company, by and through its President, Frank
L. Dent, has appealed to the City Council of the City of Paris for permission
to reconstruct the proposed building and to perarit the non-conforming use
aforesaid; and,
WHEREAS, after due and proper hearing the City Council is of the
opinion that it will not render mom hazardous the area involved, but, on the
other hand, will be a beneficial improvement of the particular area; NOW,
TI-EREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY TI-iE CITY COUNCIL OF TI-IE CITY OF PARIS, That the
City Council does hereby perrait the construction of the building proposed,
and the City Engineerts Office is hereby authorized and directed to issue to
said applicant a building permit for the construction of the proposed build-
ing, and the non-conforming use, above referred to, is hereby authorized and
permitted.
