770 RES CITY COUNCIL HAS BEEN INVESTIGATING EQUALITY AND INEQUALITY OF VALUATIONS OF REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY• • RESOLUTION N0. , / C . WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has, for several months, been investigating the equality and inequality of valuations of real and personal property located within the City of Paris for the pur- poses of taxation; and, WHEREAS, it has requested several professional firms engaged in furnishing technical experts to the Equalization Board of the City of Paris, for the purposes of determining values of properties located witzin the City of Paris, for the purpose of tax assessments; and, WHEREAS, the Appraisal Firm of Southwestern Appraisal Company, owned by Mr. L. E. Loveless, of Stamford, Texas, has been submitted to the City Council of the City of Paris; andg WHEREAS, the reputation of the Southwestern Appraisal Company has been thoroughly investigated by the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of enteriag into a contract with said Appraisal Company, to secure an inveintory and appraisal of real and personal oroperty subject to ad valorem tax, within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, in accordance uvith the terms of said proposal; NOW, THEREFQRE, BE IT RESO LVEll BY THE CITY QOUNCIL OF THE CITY 0 F PARIS, That t;he City enter into such contract, and the City Manager, Albert K. Steinheilner, is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract in accordanciD with the proposal submitted, with Mr. L. E. Loveless, Qwner of Southwes-tern Appraisal Company, and that the City Council agrees to pay the Southwes-tern Appraisal Company the sum of $35,$50.00 in the event that the contract can only be secured with the City of Paris. However, in the event that either the Paris Independent School District or the Paris Junior College Schoo]l District, or both~decide to enter into a contract with said Company, then the City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with said CompaYiy to pay up to one-half of the amount of the contract of $35,850.00.
