736 RES CITY COUNCIL HAS BEEN OBSERVANT OF CERTAIN ZONING CLASSIFICATIONS..N. • ~ 40 RESOLUTION N0. 736 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has for several months been observant of certain zoning classifications that, in the opinion of the City Council, should be made in the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the tendency within recent years has been for the business district of Paris to spread from the Plaza, West on Bonham Street, and from the Plaza, East on Lamar Avenue and Clarksville Street.; and, 4YHEREAS, numerous requests have been received for re-zoning certain portions of the areas along Bonham Street and along Lamar Avenue and Clarksville Street; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is aware of the fact that due to the normal growth of the City of Paris, additional areas will become necessary in which to locate business institutions andl in particular, retail stores; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the following de- scribed two areas, known as Tract 1 and Tract 2, are the natural and logical extensions East and West of the present business area: TAACT 1: All of that area located on Bonham Street and beginning at the intersection of the N. B. Line of Bonham Street and the W. B. Line of 4th St.p N. W.; Thence North to the S. B. Line of West Houston Street; Thence Vdest with the S. B. Line of West I-iouston Street to the E. B. Line of 6th St., N. 1V.; Thence on a line drawn VJest until the same intersects the S. B. Line of Ashby Street; Thence South to the N. B. Line of Bonham Street; Thence East with the N. B. Line of Bonham Street to the place of beginning. Also, beginning at the intersection of the N. B. Line of Bonham Street and the W. B. Line of 9th St., N. W.; Thence North to the S. B. Line of Connor Street; Thence West with the S. B. Line of Connor Street to the East Boundary Line of the combined right of way of the Frisco and Santa Fe Railroad Companies; Thence South with the E. B. Line of the railroad right of way to the N. B. Line of Bonham 5treet; Thence East with the N. B. Line of Bonham Street to the place of beginning. Also, beginning at the intersection of the S. B. Line of Bonham Street and the W. B. Line of 4th St., S. W.; Thence South to the N. B. Line of Grand Avenue; Thence West to the intersection of the N. B. Line of Grand Avenue to the E. B. Line of 7th St.v S. W.; Thence North with the E. B. Line of 7th St.f S. W. to the S. B. Line of Bonham Street; ' Thence East with the,9. B. Line of Bonham Street to the place of beginning. Also, beginning at the intersection of the S. B. Line of Bonham Street and the W. B. Line of 8th St.0 S. W.; Thence South with the W. B. Line of 8th St., S. W. to the N. B. Line of West Kaufman Street; Thence West with the N. B. Line of West Y.aufman Street to the South East Corner of a tract owned by the Paris Coca Cola Bottling Company; Thence North with the E. B. Line of the Coca Cola Bottling Company tract to the S. B. Line of Bonham Street; Thence East with the S. B. E.; Thence North to the place of beginning. Also, beginning at the intersection of the E. B. Line of 6th St., S. E. and the S. B. Line of Clarksville Street; Thence South with the E. B. Line of 6th St., S. E. to the N. B. Line of Fort Street; Thence East with the N. B. Line of Fort Street to the S. iPJ, Corner of a tract owned by Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home; Thence North with their W. B. Line to the S. B. Line of Clarksville Street; Thence West with the S. B. Line of Clarksville Street to the place of beginning. Alsop beginning at the intersection of the S. B. Also, beginning at the North West Corner of a lot facing on Clarksville Street and immediately East of the Lacy-Margrave:> Drug Store lot; Thence in an Easterly direction with the N. B. Line of eacYi lot which faces on the North Boundary Line of Clarksville Street; to the W. B. Line of 12th St.v S. E.; Thence South with the W. B. Line of 12th St., S. E. to the N. B. Line of Clarksville Street; Thence West with the N. B. Line of Clarksville Street to the South East Corner of the Lacy Margraves Drug Store; . Thence North with the E. B. Line of the Lacy-Margraves Druq Store building to the place of beginning; and, WHEREAS, under the existing zoning ordinances the same can be changed on the Zoning Map of the City of Paris from an area designaited as Residential District to that of "E" Commvnity Store District wit:hout any material loss to any of the owners and occupants of the areas i.n- volved; NOW, THEREFOREO BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, Triat the question of changing the above two areas from that of Residenti.al District to "E" Community Store District, in compliance and under Zoning Ordinance No. 1409 of the City of Paris, be, and the same is hereby re- ferred to the Planning & Zoning Commission, and the proper official.s of the City of Paris are hereby authorized to coraply with the laws of the State of Texas wi.th reference to the zoning of the above are ancf that a public hearing be called for 7:00 otclock P.
