WI-EREAS, The City of Paris, on September 30, 1895, purchased from
P. M. Chiswn the following described tract of land:
Situated in the County of Lamar and the State of Texas, being
a part of the Wesley Askins Survey, about 2* miles North East of
the City of Paris, Texas, and a part of an 11 acre tract deeded
by the Sheriff of Lamar County, on the 5th day of December, 1889;
Be inning at a stake from which a Black Oak marked X bears
East ~ poles;
Thence East 222-1/3 feet a stake;
Thence North 980 feet to a stake in the N. B. Line of said
11 acre tract;
Thence West 222-1/3 feet to astake from which a Red Oak
marked X bears West j- pole, the North West eorner of said 11
acre tract;
Thence South 980 feet to the place of beginning, and
containing 5 acres; and,
WHEREAS, the same was purchased for paupers• burial ground; and,
WHEREAS, the same was never used and is not nora used for such
purposes, and the use of the same for sueh purpose has many years ago been
abandoned and is still abondoned by the City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Paris to procure certain
right of way on lands belonging to Fred Council for the construction of the
thirty inch (30") water supply line from Lake Crook to the Narth West part
of the City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the advantage of the City of Paris to exchange the
property above deseribed to Fred Council for its corresponding value in right
of way for said 30" water supply line; AIOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVID BY THE CITY ODUNCIL OF Tt-E CITY OF PARIS, That such
exchange be made, and that the Mayor, James R. Gill, is hereby authorized
to execute the necessary conveyance in order to effect such exchange.
