712 RES ENGINEERING FIRM OF FORREST AND COTTON CALLED ATTENTION TO CITY COUNCIL THAT WATER LINE SHOULD BE ABANDONED• • RESOLUTION N0. 712 0 WITREAS, the Engineering Firm of Forrest and Cotton has called to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris that the water l.ine leading from Jackson Street, South, on 5th Street, S. E., to the Texas and Pacific Railroad tracks; Thence West along tne Texas and Pacific Railroad tracks to 3rd Street, S. E.; Thence back North on 3rd Street, S. E. to Jackson Street, should be abandoned, because of the fact that it has eroded beyond cleaning, re-lining, and repair; that such erosion is duE~ to cinders present in the area where such pipe is located; and, WHEREAS, the Engineers have recommended that no one is being served by such line at the points where it would be abandoned; and, WHEREAS, they have further recommended that a nevr ten inch (1011) line be laid on Jackson Street, frorn 3rd Street, S. E. to 5th Street, S. E.; and, YVHFREAS, they have further recorrrnended that the cost of this line and the contract for the same be added to the contract of Stimson Contracting Company on Project No. 803-3-57, on Schedule TI thereof, wherein the same applies to the laying of ten inch (1011) water lines; NOW, TI-]ER.EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY QJUrICIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to make such addition and to furnish the Stimson Contracting Company with the necessary authorization and request for such work.
