699 RES CITY COUNCIL ADVERTISED FOR BIDS0 • RESOLUTION N0. 699 . WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has heretofore advertised for bidst to be received at 7:00 otclock P.M. on April 8, A. D., 1957, in the Council Room at the City Hall of the City of Paris, on Project No. 803-3-57, portions of the Water and Sewer Distribution Project; and, WHEREAS, there was received several bids on the 8th day of April, A. D., 1957 for Schedules I, II, and III of said Project No. 803-3-57; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has referred said bids to the Consulting Engineers, Forrest and Cotton; and, WHEREAS, the Consulting Engineers, Forrest and Cotton, have advised the Council that the base bid on Schedules I, II, and TII of Project No. 803-3-57 of the Stimson Contracting Company, a corporation, of Dallas, Texas, which bid totalled the sum of $443,740.75, is the lowest and best bid; and, WI-EREAS, the Engineering Firm of Forrest and Cotton has determined that said bidder is responsible, and that the same is the lowest and best bid for said project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CDUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the bid of Stimson Contracting Company, a corporation, of Dallas, Texas, on the total of Schedules I, II, and III of Project No. 803-3-57, in the amount of $443,740.75, be, and the same is hereby declared the lowest and best bid for said project. BE IT FURTHER RE80LVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI-iE CITY OF PARIS, That the bid of Stimson Contracting Company, a corporation, in the amount aforesaid be, and the same is hereby accepted, upon the bidder entering into the necessary contract, according to the plans and specifications for said project, and posting a good and sufficient performance bond, and that the Mayor, James R. Gill, be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Stimson Contracting Company, a corporation, for the completion of such project for the aforesaid sum.
