696 RES CITY COUNCIL DECIDED TO PURCHASE ACCOUNTING AND BILLING MACHINE•

RESOLUTION N0. 696
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has heretofore
decided to purchase an accounting and billing machine, to be used by the
Water Department of the City of Paris in keeping the records and making
out the monthly water bills; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has heretofore
caused notice to be published in the Paris News for the required length
of time of its intention to receive bids on the purchase of such machine;
and,
WHEREAS, the bids were received and were opened by the City
Council at its regular session on this date; and,
WHEREAS, the National Cash Register Company of Dayton, Ohio bid
the sum of $4,550.00, the Burroughs Corporation of Detroit, Michigan bid
the sum of $3,594.60; and,
WHEREAS, it appears that the Burroughs Corporation is the lowest
and best bidder for the sale of such machine; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY ODUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
That the bid of Burroughs Corporation, in the amounz of $3,594.60, be, and
the same is hereby declared the lowest and best bid, and the City Manager
of the City of Paris is hereby authorized to purchase said machine at said
price and to issue a warrant drawn on the account of the City of Paris in
payment thereof.
