WHEREAS, heretofore, the City Council of the City of Paris has
instructed the City lAanager of the City of Paris to submit to the
Continental Oil Conipanyp a corporationp a bid not to exceed Eight
Thousand ($89000.00) Dollars for t.he purchase of a certain lot or tract
of land situated in the Cf ty of Parisv and being locattd at the South
West intersection of Soath Church Strset aad East Kaufatan Street, frant-
ing 87 feet on the South Boundary Line of East Kaufman Street and 75 feet
on the West Boundary Line of South Church Street; andg
WHEREAS9 ths Continental Oil Company, a corporation, by and
through its real estate agentp Lamar Real Estate Company, of Pariap
Texasv have indicated that they will accept the snm of Eight Thousand
(S8,000.00) Dollars for said property; and,
WHEREASp the Cantinental Dil Cotnpany has requested an earnest
money deposit of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars by the City of Paris to
accompany sales cmntract for the sale and purchase of said property;
NOW9 THEREFORE, .
BE IT FtESOLVED BY THE CITY t70UNCIL OF THE CI1Y OF PARI5:
That The City of Paris enter into a contract with the Continental
Oil Companyp a corporation, for the purchase of said property for thc sum
cf Eight Thousand ($8,000.00) Dollars cashv and deposit with the
Continental Oil Company the sum of Five Hundred ($590.00) Dollars earne st
money to secure the performance of a sales contract for the purchase of
said property. That the Mayor of the City of Paris is hereby authorized
and directed to execute such sales contract with the Continental Oil
Corapany, a corporation, and the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to pay to the Continental Oil Companyg a cozporation, the sum
of Eight Thousand ($80000.00) Dollars upon the delivery of title to and
the possession of said property.
