632 RES WATER CONSUMING CUSTOMERS AND CITIZENS OF COP ARE DEMANDING AND USING WATER AT A RATE WHCIH EXCEEDS THE PUMPING, ETC OF COP•
RESOLU?ION N0. 63 2 •
WHEREAS, the water consuming customers and citizens of the City
of Paris are presently demanding and using water at a rate which exceeds
the pumping, storage and distributing capacities of the City of Paris;
and,
WHEREASp such excessive ase has created an urgent and serioua
condition in that the water storage facilities of the City of Paris tiave
been seriously depleted and reduced below a point considered safe for
fire-fighting purposes during the current and continued drought condi.-
tion; and,
WI-IEREAS, it is the cunsidered opinion of the Governing Body of
the City of Paris that immediate and drastic steps must be taken to
curtail the use of water during certain critical hours of the day in
order to keep constant and adequate supply of water on storage for fire-
fighting purposes; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That
the use of water for lawn, garden and shrubbery watering purposes between
the hours of 12;00 noon and 8:00 P. M. be, and the same is hereby
immediately prohibited, and such prohibition shall continue until the
present urgent condition is relieved and until further action by the City
Council.
