545 RES BY ORD NO 1276 CITY COUNCIL GRANTED TO TELEVISION PRODUCTS CO AUTHORIZING SAID GRANTEE TO USE AND OCCUPY STREETS, ETCRESGLU TI ON NO. 5 4 5
Whereas, by Ordinance No. duly adopted and passed upon third read-
£ ing by the City Council of the City of Paris on December 8, 1952, the City
Council granted to Television Products Company authorizing said grantee to use
and occupy the streets, highways, easements, alleys, parks and other public
! places in the City of Paris for a period of fifteen (15) years, giving to it a
, franchise for the purpose of receiving, amplifying and distributing television
~ signals to said City and the inhabitants thereof; and,
'OVhereas said grantee has failed and refused to pay to the City of Paris
the initial consideration recited and provided for in such franchise, and has
further failed to effect substantial progress towards the installation of the
services and facilities specified therein, in direct violation of the provi-
sions of Section 14 and other provisions of such franchise; and,
UJhereas, said grantee has transmitted to the officials of the City of
Paris its purpose, desire and intention of abandoning such franchise and has
otherwise made known its purpose and intent of failing to comply with the re-
quirements thereof; NOVJ, THERErORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CIirY OJUNCIL OF :HE CITY QF PARIS:
That the franchise heretofore granted to Television Products Company by
; Ordinance AIo. 12R6, passed on final reading on December 8, 1952, be and the
" same is hereby declared to have been voided by virtue of the violation of the
~ terms and provisions of such franchise by the grantee thereof and particularl.y
by virtue of grantee's violation of the terms and provisions of Section 14 of
~ such ordinance and franchise, and the same is hereby declared to be void and of
no further force and effect.
