541 RES PORTION OF CERTAIN STREETS WILL BE IMPROVED• •

VJHEREAS, by a resolution heretofore passed by the City Council of the
City of Paris, all that portion of the following streets:
(1) Washington Street from the Wsst boundar,y line of 7th Street
Southwest, 'v'iest to a paint 780 feet W9St of such 'lTest boundary
line of said 7th Straet Southwast;
(2) Fitzhugh Avenue Between Hickory Street and Blake Road;
(3) 8th Street fiortheast between Hickory Street and Blake Road;
(4) Blake Road from its intersection with Fitzhugh Avenue, 1Vest
a distance of 444 feet;
(5) Hickory Streot from its intersection with Fitzhugh Avenue,
'Nest to its intersection with 8th Street Yortheast,
shall be improved in the followi.no mnner, to-wit:
(1)That said streets sha.ll be cut and filled so as to bring the
same to grade;
(2) That said streets shall be paved from curb to curb with 6-inch,
soil-asphalt base and single asphaltic surface treatmant;
(3) ThrLt concrete curbs and ;utterb bhall be constructed ulong both
sidas of the paved portions of said streets; and,
V~i~RF,AS, by the terms of said resolution, specifications were ordered
to be made by the Director of Public ','vorks for the improvement of said
streets, as provided by said resolution; and,
+14HEREAS, the said specifications have been prepared and are naw submitted
to the City Council for approval and adoption; N0',v, THEER FORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CQUNCIL OF TNE CITY OF PARIS:
SECTICJN L. Thai; ths Specifications so presented to the City Council of the
Ci~y of Paris by the Director of Public "Uorks and prepared by him for the
impi°ovement of' said streets enumerated above, as hereinbefore def'ined, having
been carefully considerad by t~B City Council, be, ana the same are hereby
approved ana adopted as the specifications for the improvement of said streets.
SECTICIN 2. That the City Clerk be, and he is hereb,y, instructed to advertise
or sea ed bids for the construction of the curbs and ;utters called for by
this resolution, such advertisement for bids to be published in the Paris
Yews, the official publication of the Cit,y of Paris, which is a newspaper of
general circulaiion in the Cit,y of Pz,ris. The said advertibement shall be
published once a week for two conseeutive weeks und tne bids shall be received
at least fourteen(14) days after the time and date of the first such weekly
publication. All bids shall be received subject to the terms and provisions
of the Charter of the City of Paris, and sYall be filed with the City Clerk
on the date and hour specified and shall be opened and read in the presence
of the Council in a public meeting of the City Council.
SECTICZt 3. The City Council, in initiatin~ this proceeding, is actin, under
e rms and provisions of the Aot passed at the First Called Session of the
Fortieth I,egislature of the State of Texas, and lrnawn as Chapter 106 of the
Acts of said Session, together with any amendments thereto, novr shawn as
Qrticle 1105b of Vernon+s Texas Civil Statutes, which said law, as an alterna-
