eion on April 29, 1950:
"In LAMAF. COUNTY, in the City of Parie, sinee it is apparently the
m utual desire of the City of Paris and the Texas Highway Department
to provide for Reeurfacing Pavements ir,cluding incidenLal items thereta
on the following highway routes:
U.S. Hwy. 92 f rom Eaat 20th St. along Lamar Avenue and
Bonha.m St. to West 25th St., a dlstance of approx. 3.0 mileso
U.B. Hwy. 271 from 17th 8t . Southeast, Weet and North along
Clarksville and Main St8. to North City Llmit, a distance of
approx, 2.4 mileao ?
State Hwy. 24 Prom P& M.P. Railroad along S. Main and S. Church
8te. to U.S. 271 at Clarkavi2le St., a distance of approx. 1.0 milee
ande
WHEFEAS, the City has tendered financial assistance in the fiesurfacing
of pavemente to the extent of $329000,00;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE following actSan is hex'eby taken:
The City of Paris will provide aIl necessary right of way clear of ob-
structions and Pree of property damage and will provide for the immediate
construction of co ntinuous curb and gutter, utility adjustments, storm
8ewers, etc., all as may be neceeeary for a complete project, aill aeeume
responeibility for the conetruction of drivewaqs and e3deNalks ahould
they be deemed necessary now or in the Puture and will turn over to
the State the 8um of $32,000o00 as its estimated. share oP the ResurPacing
co st.
The Texas Highwa,y Department, after the C,ity has fulPilled its reaponsi-
bilities, will provide Por F,eeurPacing Pavement within these limits
at an eatimated cast of $51,400.00.
"It ig understood that the respon$ibility of the Texas Highway Depart-
ment is conPined to tr,e pavement and its support, and all other features
neceseary now or in the Puture to prov3de an adequate travel Pactlity
shall be the responsibility of the "V'ity of Parieo
It is further agreed that the City of Paria pill enter into agreements
nacording to standard forms of the Highway Department to indemnify the
State during and after conetruction againeL any and all liability or
damage growing out of 8uch eonstruction, to regulate traPfic, and t o
prevent eneroachment on the right of x$y,
Upon aeceptance of the prov2sions of thie Order by the proper oPficlals
of the City of Parie, the State AighwaY Engineer 1.e directed to pxoceed
with Lhe develapment of plans Por construction in the most Peasible
and economieal manner."
Y.our attention ie directed to the last paragraph of this Minute and
we will be pleased to receive an Order from your City Council accepting
the provieions of this Minute so the Department ma9 proceed further
with plane for conetruction.
