Discuss and act on resolution approving a professional services contract with Hayter Engineering for the design, plans and specifications for Trail de Paris extension from SE 8�' St. to SW 4�' St. POLICY ISSUE(S�: Contract BACKGROUND: The City of Paris was awarded a recreational trail grant in the amount of $160,000 from Texas Parks and Wildlife for this extension. The Trail de Paris currently extends from the eastern city limits to SE 8�' St. This project will be the first rails with trails project when completed. The City has been in the process of acquiring Right-of-Way and easements for the project. The following foundations have donated money to the project: First Federal Community Bank Foundation $25,000, Legacy Foundation $25,000, Liberty National Bank $6,000 and Guaranty Bond Bank $5,000. The overall project cost is estimated at $289,000. The grant will provide $160,000 and the donations $61,000 which will leave the City's portion at $68,000 of cash and in-kind services. $50,000 has been budgeted in the 2012-2013 budget year.
