2012-059 RES DECLARING 3 HOLLMATRO PERSONAL POWER PUMPS WITH COMBI-TOLLS TO BE SURPLUS PROPERTYRESOLUTION N0. 2012-059 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, DECLARING THREE (3) HOLMATRO PERSONAL POWER PUMPS (PPU'S) WITH COMBI-TOOLS (SPREADERS/CUTTERS) TO BE SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING DONATION OF THE SURPLUS PROPERTY TO THE LAMAR COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSOCIATION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Paris Fire Department has retired (3) Holmatro Personal Power Pumps (PPU's) with Combi-Tools (spreader/cutters) that have been discontinued by the manufacturer and replaced with newer, more powerful tools; and, WHEREAS, there is no known municipal use for this equipment, and it would be right and proper to declare the same to be surplus property; and, WHEREAS, local Volunteer Fire Departments in Lamar County have assisted the Paris Fire Department many times in the past when we have called for assistance by providing water tenders (tankers) and brush apparatus. The volunteer Fire Departments in Lamar County do not have these types of rescue tools and we recommend donating this surplus property to them in appreciation for their continued support, to maintain and enhance our relationship with them, and to help others as well. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the (3) Holmatro Personal Power Pumps (PPU'S) with Combi-Tools (Spreader/cutters), be, and are hereby declared to be surplus property and the same may be donated to the Lamar County Volunteer Fire Department Association in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Paris.
