September 28, 2001
The City Council of the City of Paris met in special session Friday,
September 28, 2001, 4:45 P. M., Paris Junior College, Applied Technology
Building, Room 1016, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas. Mayor Pro
Tem Manning called the meeting to order with the following Council
Members present: John F. Bell, Joe E. McCarthy, Richard Manning, John
A. Carter, Jr., and Benny Plata. Also present were City Manager Michael
E. Malone, City Attorney Larry W. Schenk, and Assistant City Clerk
Thomas E. Haynes.
Mayor Pro Tem Manning called for consideration of and action on a
resolution authorizing and approving the application of the Texas Housing
Finance Corporations Act to property located within the City of Paris in
accordance with Texas Local Government Code, Section 394.005, and
authorizing the use of bonds issued by the Northeast Texas Housing
Finance Corporation to finance housing mortgages for homes located
within the City of Paris.
Mayor Pfiester entered the council chambers and assumed his seat at the
council meeting before the rendition was read.
Resolution No. 2001-162, authorizing and approving the application of the
Texas Housing Finance Corporations Act to property located within the
City of Paris in accordance with Texas Local Government Code, Section
394.005, and authorizing the use of bonds issued by the Northeast Texas
Housing Finance Corporation to finance home mortgages for homes located
within the City of Paris, making other findings and provisions related to
the subject, and providing an effective date, was presented. A motion was
made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, for
approval of the resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
