SUBJECT: BID RECOMMENDATION / POLICE CA.RS
(Accownt #Ol -1004 - 31- 99)
DATE: DECEMBER 6, 2001
TLis year the Police Department budgeted for three motor vehicles in
the amount of $75,000.00. We will need to purchase two police package
vehicles for the Patrol Division and one non - police package vehicle for
the Criminal Investigation Division. In checlang with the Houston -
Galveston Area Council of Govemments we found that the state
contract price which has already been bid is:
(2 Ford Crown Victoria 2002 Police Package Models)
Philpott Ford Motor Co. 1400 US Hwy. 69 - Nederland, TX 77627
2 Police Package velucles @ $23,748.00 =$47,496.00
Plus HGAC administrative fee @ _ $753.93
Total for police package units =$48,249.93
(1 C6evrolet Impala 2002 four door sedan)
Lawrence Marshall Chevrolet, PO Box 11541 Austin, TX 78711
1 CID non - police package vehicle @$17,487.00 =$17, 487.00
Plus HGAC administrative fee @ $279.74 = $279.79
Total for CID unit = $17,766.79
Total for all three police cars: $66,016.72
It is my recommendation that we purchase these three ve}ucles through
the HGAC state contract.
