AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS , PARIS, TEXAS , PROVIDIIVG
THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVIS-
ING SUBSECTION (b) OF SECTION 34-23 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING THAT
COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL CUSTOMERS THAT ARE USERS OF CITY WATER
SHALL BE CHARGED FOR SEWER SERVICE ON THE BASIS OF 70� OF METERED
WATER CONSUMPTION UNLESS THEIP. WASTEWATER IS METERED, IN WHICH
CASE THEY SHALL BE CHARGED FOR 100% OF THEIR METERED WASTEWATER;
PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO FXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALIIVG ALL
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1988.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section l. That Subsection (b) of Section 34-23 of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended
by addin� thereto the following paragraph:
"Section 34-23. Sewer Rates - For Customers Using
City Water.

(b) Monthly commercial and industrial
customers' wastewater volume shall be
based upon 70% of the actual metered
potable water consumption except those
commercial and industrial customers
whose wastewater is metered and their
volume sha11 be based upon 100% of the
metered wastewater. The former shall be
billed for 70% of the metered potable
water ar.d the latter shall be billed for
100% of the metered wastewater."
Section 2. Any person violating any of the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a Misdemeanor,
and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not to exceed
$2,000.00, and each and every day's continuance of any
violation of the above enumerated section shall constitute
and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective on
October 1, 1988.
