Conduct a required public hearing for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for a Brownfield Cleanup Grant to remove hazardous materials from the Grand Theater. POLICY ISSUE�S�: Public Hearing; Grant application BACKGROUND: This public hearing is for an EPA Brownfield cleanup grant to complete the hazardous substances removal process for the Grand Theater. This allows the community an opportunity to comment on the draft proposal. A public hearing notice was placed in the Paris News on November 5`n The project is estimated at approximately $200,000.00. The City's match for the project is $40,000.00. The following items are either complete or in the process: • The roof above the stage has been repaired and was paid for by the EPA Brownfield Grant. • The wood that was installed to protect the sign has been removed. • Denney Architects is preparing a proposal to do the plans and specifications to replace the roof, redo the front entry area, redo the fa�ade above the canopy and repair the sign.
