AGENDA INFORMATION SHEET <br />PROJECT: To authorize the City Manager and the City Engineer to solicit proposals and negotiate <br />a contract in conformance with State law for a production study of the Water Treatment Plant. <br />BACKGROUND: The City of Paris is currently engaged in negotiations with wholesale water <br />customers, including the Lamar County Water Supply District, to result in an amended or new water <br />supply contract to the benefit of both parties. Incident to such negotiations, it is necessary to identify <br />the current water treatment capacity of the City of Paris before such capacity is contracted by the <br />City. As a consequence, a professional study of the Water Treatment Plant capacity of the City of <br />Paris needs to be performed. <br />DESCRIPTION: Authorize the City Manager and the City Engineer to solicit proposals and <br />negotiate in conformance with State law a contract for the performance of a study of the Water <br />Treatment Plant of the City of Paris, with said contract to be approved by City Council. <br />COST: The cost will be as negotiated with the most qualified proposer. The contract will be paid <br />with funds taken from Water Production Account No. 10-0318-82-00, Consultants. <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION: Consider approval of the resolution authorizing the solicitation of <br />proposals and the negotiation of a contract in conformance with State law. <br />STAFF CONTACT: City Engineer Shawn Napier and City Manager Michael E.
