RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A
PERIMETER FENCE AND GATES AT THE WASTEWATER
TREATMENT PLANT; MAHING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARINGAN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the l lth day of
February, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-030, approve the advertisement for bids for furnishing plant,
labor, materials, and equipment, and for performing all wark required for the installation of a chain
link fence around the Wastewater TreatmentPlant, which bids were received unti13:00 o'clock P.M.,
Tuesday, the Sth day of March, 2002; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction was made by Emerson Fence of Paris, Texas,
and it should be awarded the bid for the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the bid of Emerson Fence for the installation of a perimeter fence and gates
atthe Wastewater Treahnent Plant in the amount of $36,750.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted
and let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the
bid documents.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage.

Heipht:
Overall height including outriggers is approx 8 ft.
Lenqth:
Approximately 3450 linear feet.
Location:
As shown on attached sketch.
Materials:
All galvanized.
Fabric:
Nine (9) gage with 2" diamond. 6 Ft. height.
Posts:
Schedule 40
Line: 1 7/8 " diameter
Terminal: 3" diameter
Gate: 4" diameter
Length: Line: 8', terminal & gate: 9'
Spacing: Posts shall be set at a maximum of 10' apart.
Rail:
Top rail shall be 1 7!8
Caas:
Posts shall have galvanized top caps where necessary.
Wire:
Tension wire at bottom shall be 9 gage smooth galvanized.
Extension:
There shall be a three wire extension at the top
of the fence, extending at an angle to the outside.
The wire shall be 12 1/2 gage, four point barbed.

Each shall consist of two pieces 8' wide, swing type.
Walk:
Each shall be 4' wide, swing type.
Locks:
All gates shall be equipped with locking mechanisms
to accept a pad lock.
Main Gate:
Shall be of roller type, 20' opening. Capable of being automated.

Operator shall be a two motor Eagle 2000 or equal.
Frames: Gate frames shall be made from 1 5/8" diameter pipe.
Hinges shall allow gate to swing open in both directions.

Holes: Post holes for 2" and 3" posts shall be a minimum of 9" in diameter.
Four (4) inch post holes shall have a minimum diameter of 12 inches.
Spacinq: Terminal posts shall be spaced a maximum of 300'.
Siqns: All signs will be provided and installed by the City.
Variations: May be submitted for approval after the bid is accepted,.
All must be approved in writing by the Dir. Of Utilities prior
to construction of the variation.
