AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD
Tuesday, March 19, 2002
6:00 PM
1. The Airport Advisory Board Meeting was called to order by Victor
Abeles at 6:00 P.M.
A. The following members were present:
Victor Abeles J.W. Ashmore
Eric Clifford Rod Kosterman
James Proctor J. B. Richey
Vic Ressler
B. Also in attendance were:
Tommy Haynes, Airport Director Russell Ham
Jim Collier, Airport Manager Larry Schenk, City
Attorney
IL The Minutes of the February 19, 2002, meeting had been distributed
to the directors with the agenda for this meeting. A motion was made
by Rod Kosterman, seconded by James Proctor, and unanimously
approved to accept the minutes as presented.
III. Status of the 8" Water Line Project:
Mr. Haynes reported the work is in progress. Rain for the past two
days has slowed the work. It is anticipated that the installation will be
completed within three to five days after the rain stops.
IV. Self Service Fuel System:
Jerry Richey was not present and J.B. Richey advised that the
information was not available. It was suggested that this item be on
the agenda for the next meeting.
V. Discussion of and Consider Possible Action for Approval by the City
Council regarding Proposed Amendments to the Policy for Private
Hangars at Cox Field Airport:

This item to remain on the table until the next meeting at the request
of Eric Clifford.
VL Discussion of and Consider Possible Action on Recommendations to the
City Council regarding a Request by Larry Townes for Additional
Land to Build a Parking Lot and New Hangar:
A motion was made by Vic Ressler and seconded by James Proctor to
bring this item from the table. The motion passed unanimously.
The board recommends a helicopter landing spot be designated and be
marked appropriately on the south end of the parking ramp. A
grounding rod will have to be installed at the helipad for refueling. It
will be necessary to get this approved by TxDot Aviation before the
request from Mr. Townes can be considered.
VIL Discussion of Access Road on Northeast Part of Cox Field:
A motion was made by Eric Clifford and seconded by Vic Ressler to
bring this item from the table. The motion carried on called vote.
It is recommended that the City Council consider opening an access
road to the airport property from the Old Sylvan Road. The airport
boundary should be surveyed and the location of any old county road
determined. J.W. Ashmore so moved, Rod Kosterman seconded and
the item passed unanimously.
VIIL Recommended Agenda Items for the Next Board Meeting:
A. Proper identification/recognition of airport namesake, Charlie
Mac Cox.
B. New members for the Advisory Board
C. Relocation of airport marker.
IX. The meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
