RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING A PROCLAMATION DECLARING THE
MONTH OF APRIL AS FAIR HOUSING MONTH; MAHING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is supportive of Title VIII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1968, as amended, which prohibits discrimination in housing; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris has executed a Proclamation in the form shown
in Exhibit A, attached hereto, proclaiming the month of April as "Fair Housing Month" in the city of
Paris; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests ofthe City ofParis thatthe City Council
of the City of Paris show support of the Fair Housing law by approving said proclamation; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the Proclamation proclaiming April as "Fair Housing Month" in the city of
Paris, in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
