RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2)
2002 YEAR MODEL SIX CYLINDER (V6) EXTENDED CAB PICKUPS FOR
USE BY THE REGIONAL CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE APPREHENSION
PROGRAM; MAHING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED
TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Paris did heretofore advertise for bids for the purchase of two (2)
2002 Year Model Six Cylinder (V6) Extended Cab Pickups for use by the Regional Controlled
Substance Apprehension Program, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock P.M., Tuesday, the
7th day of May, 2002; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for such equipment was made by Bonham Chrysler of Bonham,
Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the bid of Bonham Chrysler for the purchase of two (2) 2002 Year Model
Six Cylinder (V6) Extended Cab Pickups for use by the Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension
Program in the total amount of $32,637.38, be, and the same is hereby, accepted and let conditioned
upon said bidder meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage.

SUBJECT: BID RECOMMENDATION FOR TWO VEHICLES
On April 1 l, 2002, bid forms and specification requirements were faxed to four automobile
dealerships in Paris, one in Clarksville, one in Bonham, and five outside the tri-county azea
(statewide).
The bids received for two new 2002 year model pickups were opened at City Ha11 on Tuesday,
May 7, 2002, at 3:00 p.m. The bid is as follows:

Bonham, Texas 75418
$ 16,318.69 per unit for a total of $ 32,637.38
The only other bid received was by Phiipot Motors of Nederland, Texas. This bid did not comply
with specifications by citing the cost of two "2001" model compact pickups.
On May 7, 2002, an adjustment in the 2001/2002-grant award was approved in the amount of
$33,000.00 to purchase the two 2002 yeaz model pickups.
It is my recommendation to award the bid to Bonham Chrysler since they met all specifications
except the ones listed, which are minor in nature.
The grant adjustment and two bids are attached to this recommendation.
