DRAFT <br />J:\Attorney\Lisa\Resolutions\CiJRRENT\IIistoric Landmark - 6-02.wpd <br />June 7, 2002 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE HISTORIC <br />LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF PARIS; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE <br />SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the terms of office of Bill Lightfoot, Louise Hagood, Donald Wilson, <br />Patricia Davis, Daisy Harville, Debbie Burks, and David Denney, as members of the Historic <br />Landmark Preservation Committee of the City of Paris, did expire on June 30, 1998; and, the <br />terms of office of Jo Miesch, Rick Powell, Michael Rhodes, William Cupit, Ed Ellis, Patsy <br />Daniels, F. L McClanahan, and Flo Brunette did expire on June 30, 1999; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the appointments <br />of a member of the board of directors of a local financial institution, a person with nursery <br />or landscape interest, a member of the Visitors and Convention Council of the Chamber of <br />Commerce of Lamar County, a realtor, a member of the Lamar County Bar Association, <br />a member of the Lamar County Genealogical Society, and and as members-at-large, for <br />terms of one (1) year, beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003; and the appointments <br />of an architect, a historian, a member of the Paris, Texas Industrial Foundation, Inc., <br />a member of the Lamar County Historical Commission, the Director of Aikin Archives, <br />a member of the Lamar County Historical Society, and as a member-at-large, for terms of <br />two (2) years, beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2004; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS, <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. That a member of the board of directors of a local financial institution, <br />a person with nursery or landscape interest, a member of the Visitors and Convention Council <br />of the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County, a realtor, a member of the Lamar County <br />Bar Association, a member of the Lamar County Genealogical Society, and and as <br />members-at-large, be, and they are hereby, appointed to serve as members of the Historic <br />Landmark Preservation Committee of the City of Paris for terms of one (1) year, beginning July <br />1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003. <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. <br />
