Minutes of Regular Meeting
Paris-Lamar County Board of Health
The Paris-Lamar County Board of Health held its regular meeting on
Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at Christus St. Joseph North. Board members in
attendance included Ms. Vickie Bonham, Dr. Bert Strom, Dr, Wally Krafz,
and Dr. Eciward Clark. Others in attendance included Mr. Michael Malone,
Mr. Anthony Bethel, Mrs. LaDonna Koehn, Mr. Paul Swasko and Mrs. Carla
Rhodes.
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 AM. The minutes of the previous
meeting were approved with motion made by Dr. Wally Kraft and second
by Dr. Edward Clark.
Mr. Hethel reported that the Bioterrorism Grant has been completed
and mailed, also that if the Health Dept. gets the Bioterrorism Grant
that it will go into effect June 1, 2002. Board discussed contents of
the grant.
Dr. Kraft requested that Mr. Bethel send each member a copy of the
grant.
Mr. Bethel reported that it is time to plan the FY03 budget. He
requested to put in the FY03 budget a fenced playground and playground
equipment at the Health Dept,for children to play in while waiting for
appointments. Beacuse of small amount of space, the hallway is being
used as c;aitino area and most of the time it is very noisy and congested.
Mr. Malone states the budget will be tight and that he wouldn't put the
fenced playground and equipment in the budget.
Mr. Bethel passed out monthly reports to the board and went over the
reports with board members.
The meetin~ was adjourned at 7:45 AM.
