A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF DEEDS OF ABANDONMENT TO THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS OF A FIFTEEN (15) FOOT ALLEY ABANDONED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2002- FROM THE WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF 18TH STREET S.W., WEST TO THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF 19TH STREET S.W., LOCATED BETWEEN BONHAM STREET (U.S. HWY 82) AND W. KAUFMAN STREET; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris that there is an alley running east and west beginning at the west boundary line of 18th Street S.W. to the east boundary line of 19th Street S.W., located between Bonham Street (U.S. Hwy 82) and W. Kaufman Street; and, WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City Council by petition of the property owners that the alley is not desired by the property owners adjacent to said alley but that said alley is of use and necessary to the City of Paris and its citizens for drainage and utility easement purposes; and, WHEREAS, the City Council, by prior Ordinance No.2002- , adopted June 6, 2002, has authorized the City to abandon the City's interest in the aforesaid alley; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the City's interest in said alley be conveyed to the adjacent owners on either side of said alley and that drainage and utility easements be retained; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the Mayor of the City of Paris be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, a deed of abandonment conveying to the adjacent owners on either side of said alley, in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, the City's interest in the abandoned alley located between Bonham Street (U. S. Hwy 82) and W. Kaufman Street, beginning at the west boundary line of 18th Street S.W., west to the east boundary line of 19th Street S.W., it appearing that the real and true owners of the hereinafter described lots are as follows: Lots 1&2, Block 4, S. J. Wright Addition 1805 Bonham Lots 3& 4, Block4, S. J. Wright Addition 1825 Bonham Lots 5& 8, Block 4, S. J. Wright Addition 1843, 1875 Bonham Pt. of Lots 9& 10, Block 4, S. J. Wright Addition 115 19th Street S.W. Lot 11 & 40' of 12, Block 4, S. J. Wright Addition 1842 W. Kaufman Lots 11A & 13, Block 4, S. J. Wright Addition 1830 W. Kaufman Lot 14, Block 4, S. J. Wright Addition 1820 W. Kaufman Lot 15, Block 4, S. J. Wright Addition 1812 W. Kaufman Lot 16, Block 4, S. J. Wright Addition 1804 W. That the City of Paris retain drainage and utility easements in the area to be described in the above-referenced deeds of abandonment. Section 4.
