mejno�andum <br />TO: City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Randy Tuttle, Assistant Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: STOP SIGN REQUEST <br />DATE: April 10, 2013 <br />BACKGROLTND: The City of Paris Traffic Commission received a request from a Donnie Perry <br />at 365 24`h NW to place stop signs at 24th NW & Cherry. Mr. Perry reported near accidents due <br />to vehicles not stopping at the intersection. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: On March O5, 2013 the City of Paris Traffic Commission met to consider <br />the request to place stop signs at the intersection of 24th NW & Cherry. There is currently no <br />traffic control device at this intersection. Members were informed of Mr. Perry's concern and <br />advised there had been no reported accidents at this location within the last three years. After <br />discussion the Commission voted 4-1 to place stop signs at the intersection stopping east and <br />west bound vehicles on Cherry. <br />BUDGET: The cost will be approximately $200.00 which will come from the public works <br />budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve ordinance to stop east/west bound traffic on W. Cherry Street <br />at the intersection of NW 24ih Street with installation of stop signs. <br />. <br />•. <br />
