A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE TERMINATION OF CUSTODIAL CONTRACT FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND CUSTODIAL SERVICE FOR THE CITY HALL, WATER BILLING OFFICE, CITY HALL WEST ANNEX, CITY HALL NORTH ANNEX, THE PARIS PUBLIC LIBRARY, AND THE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT TERMINAL; AUTHORIZING ADVERTIZING FOR BIDS LABOR, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT AND FOR PERFORMING ALL WORK REQUIRED FOR MAINTENANCE AND CUSTODIAL SERVICE TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL AREAS OF SERVICE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, in Resolution No.99-041, on Apri129, 1999, award the bid and approve execution of the Custodial Contract for maintenance and custodial service with David Van Noord d/b/a Van Noord 7anitorial Service; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Paris to terminate said Custodial Contract and advertise for bids labor, materials, and equipment and for performing all work required for maintenance and custodial service on specified City of Paris facilities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the termination of the existing Custodial Contract for maintenance and custodial service for the City Hall Building, Water Billing Office, City Hall West Annex, City Hall North Annex, the Paris Public Library, and the Municipal Airport Terminal with David Van Noord d/b/a Van Noord 7anitorial Service be, and the same is hereby, approved, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to issue notice of termination to the contractor effective sixty (60) days from receipt thereof in accordance with the requirements of the contract. Section 3. That a new Custodial Contract to include enhanced specifications and additional areas of service and in such form as the City Attorney shall approve be advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 13 5 1 st Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, on such date as the City Manager shall determine consistent with termination of the existing contract, at which time said bids will be opened in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 135 lst Street SE, Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids will be read aloud, tabulated and referred to the City Council for its consideration.
