ABSENT

Also present was:

In the absence of Chairman Edmond Castleberry, Vice Chairman James
Brunette called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m.
As the first order of business, the minutes from the previous meeting held on
April 15, 2002, were unanimously approved as submitted.
The 2002 Season of the Paris Municipal Band was reviewed. The following
points were highlights of the discussion:
• Total Expenditures to date are $16,970 compared to $19,952 total budget.
The largest expenditure was in musician fees which totaled $14,767 for 83
musicians.
Overall season was exceptional. The music was well received by both the
crowd in attendance and the musicians. The response from musicians
was excellent and the audience was abundant and appreciative.
Discussion of the schedule was held with a desire to move the entire
season forward in an attempt to miss the peak of the summer's heat. Due
to the end of school and the time needed to prepare the band hall for the
following school year, it was decided to leave the schedule set at the
traditional time.
Discussion of the 2003 Season of the Paris Municipal Band was held in
conjunction with discussion of the 2003 budget. On a motion by Linda Suarez,
seconded by Randy Bunch the 2003 Budget of $20,850 was unanimously
approved. The budget is attached and made a part of these minutes.
