AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD
Tuesday, July 23, 2002
6:30 P.M.
1. The Airport Advisory Board Meeting was called to order by Vic Ressler
at 6:30 P.M.
A. The following members were present:

C. Also in attendance were:
Tommy Haynes, Airport Director
Jim Collier, Airport Manager
IL The Minutes of the June 18, 2002, meeting had been distributed to the
directors with the agenda for this meeting.
A motion was made by J.B. Richey, seconded by J.W. Ashmore to
approve the minutes as presented. The motion passed unanimously.
IIL Status of the self service fuel system:
Mr. Haynes reported that a contract has not been prepared by the City
Attorney due to other pressing matters. The contract will be between
J.R. Aviation and the City of Paris.
IV. Status of TxDot Aviation Approval of a new helicopter landing site:
Mr. Haynes reported that he had received a verbal approval to relocate
the helipad at Cox Field from TxDot Aviation. We will not be required
to pay back the grant that the City of Paris received in 1990 to build the
helipad. We can go forward with discussions with Townes
Communications on the desired lease property. We will also have to get
TxDot Aviation and FAA approval before the hangar can be built

because of its location near the runway.
V. Status of proposed Cox Field Brochure:
Mr. Haynes reported that the final corrections have been made to the
brochure. The computer that is required to produce the disk is being
repaired. The disk is needed by the printer to produce the brochure. The
Chamber of Commerce has agreed to pay the cost of the brochures and the
order will be for 5,000 brochures.
VL Present to the Board the portrait of Charles Mac Cox:
Mr. Ashmore presented the portrait of Charles Mac Cox. We are having
a plaque prepared that will go under the portrait that gives the information
about Charles Mac Cox. Mr. Ashmore will contact Dr. Hayden to give a
talk at the unveiling of the portrait.
It was suggested by Vic Ressler that we contact The Paris News in advance
of the ceremony to invite the public and give a history of the airport.
A date will be set in the near future and the board will be notified.
