AND OATH OF OFFICE

BACKGROIJND: On March 22, 2013 the City Clerk issued a certificate of unopposed
candidates for Districts 4 and 7 and April 8, 2013 by ordinance number 2013-010, City Council
declared Council Members far Districts 4 and 7 elected to office. On May 1 l, 2013, a general
election took place for the purpose of electing one Council Member to District 5.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Pursuant to State Law, a certificate of election shall be issued to each
candidate who is elected to office; each elected officer shall execute a statement of elected
officer; and each elected officer shall take the oath of office prior to taking office.
BUDGET: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: An oath of office will be administered to each elected officer.
