BACKGROLTND: Following the canvass of the general election, the city council has been
seated for the upcoming year.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Section 16 of the City Charter requires that the newly comprised city
council shall elect from among its members a mayor and mayor pro-tem.
BUDGET: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: Move to appoint a mayor and a mayor pro-tem to serve for one year.
