Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Paris shall meet in regular session
at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013. The meeting will be held at the City Council
Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, in Paris, Texas. The matters to be discussed and acted
upon are as follows:
Opening Agenda
1. Call meeting to order.
2. Invocation.
3. Pledge of Allegiance.
4. a. Citizens' forum.
(Persons desiring to address the Council must limit their presentation to no more than two minutes. Unless
an item is posted on the Agenda, the Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the Council from responding to
any comments other than to refer the matter to a future agenda, to an existing policy, or to a staff person
with specific factual information. Claims against the City, Council Members, ar employees, as well as
individual personnel appeals are not appropriate for citizens' forum.)
If necessary, the City Council may convene into Executive Session under Chapter 551 of the Texas
Government Code regarding any item on this agenda.
b. Proclamation recognizing Municipal Band Director Tom Neugent.
Consent Agenda
Items on the Consent Agenda are approved by a single action of the Council, with such approval applicable
to all items appearing on the Consent Agenda. A Council Member may request any item to be removed
from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item.
5. Receive reports and/or minutes from the following boards, commissions, and committees:
a. Board of Adjustment (4-2-2013)
b. Paris Economic Development Corporation (4-9-2013)
6. Receive April monthly iinancial report.
7. Receive April drainage ditch maintenance report.
8. Receive dilapidated structure report.
Regular Agenda
Discuss and act on a Resolution canvassing the returns for the Bond Election held on
May 11, 2013.
10. Discuss and act on a Resolution canvassing the returns for the Regular Municipal
Election held on May 11, 2013, for Council Districts 4, 5 and 7.
11. Issuance of Certificate of Election; Administer Statement of Elected Officer to Council
Members; and Administer Oath of Office to newly elected Council Members.
12. Election by City Council of Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem to serve the City of Paris for the
next year.
13. Presentation of the 2013 Water and Rate Study.
14. Award a bid to the lowest responsible bidder for reconstruction of the South Collegiate
Drive Project Phase II.
15. Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to
Resolution No. 2004-081.
16. Adjournment.
