SUBJECT: CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS REVIEW COMMITTEE
DATE: June 3, 2013
BACKGROLTND: Due to the large number of significant construction and reconstruction
projects ongoing and planned, Mayor Hashmi requested this item be placed on the agenda for
action.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Specifically, at the May 20 council meeting, the mayor favored appointing
an ad hoc committee comprised of two council members to review and approve streets projects
prior to their actual construction/reconstruction to help ensure city staff is proceeding
appropriately and in the proper locations.
BUDGET: No additional direct costs.
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint such a committee, if needed.
