I have attached a copy of the resolution, contract, specifications and bids regarding our
uniforms contract with Aramark. The term of this contract expires October 31, 2002. Although
this is not an official copy of the signed contract, it appears to include an option to exercise (1)
additional year beginning November 1, 2002, and ending on October 31, 2003.
At this time we are satisfied with the products and services offered by Aramark. I am
recommending we pursue this extension.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, EXERCISING THE ONE (1) YEAR OPTION PROVIDED IN
THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND ARAMARK
UNIFORM SERVICES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of
November, 2002, in Resolution No. 2000-161, authorize the execution of an Employee Uniforms
Contract with Aramark Uniform Services for a period of two (2) years, beginning November 1, 2000,
and ending October 31, 2002, with a one (1) year option ending October 31, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paris is pleased with the services provided by Aramark, and it is
desirous of exercising said option; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the one (1) year option, beginning November 1, 2002, and ending October
31, 2002, provided in paragraph 3 of the Employee Uniforms Contract with Aramark Uniform
Services be, and the same is hereby, exercised.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did in Ordinance No. 2000-044 on
September 13, 2000, authorize the advertisement for and receipt of bids for fumishing and servicing
employee uniforms for various City Departments, and bids for such were received until 3:00 o'clock
P.M., Tuesday, November 7, 2000, and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for the furnishing and servicing of employee uniforms was made
by Aramark Uniform Services, Hwy 271 North, Paris, Texas, and it should be aw8rded the bid for
the same; and,
WHEREAS, the form of the contract for furnishing and servicing employee uniforms,
attached hereto as Exhibit A, should in all things be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized
to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the bid of Aramark Uniform Services, upon the terms and conditions shown
on the contract attached hereto as Exhibit A, is hereby accepted and let conditioned upon said
uniforms meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents.
Section 3. That the Mayor of the City of Paris be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed
to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the contract with Aramark Uniform Services for fumishing
and servicing employee uniforms for various City Departments, upon the terms and conditions and
in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

THAT, the C1TY OF PARIS, Paris, Texas, a municipal corporation, acting by and through
its Mayor, Michael J. Pfiester, duly authorized, hereinafter called CITY, and ARAMARK
UNIFORM SERV ICES, by and through its District Manager, Jim Bowman, Hwy 271 North, Route
1, Box 645, Paris, Texas 75460, hereinafter called ARAMARK, do hereby contract and agree as
follows:
1. ARAMARK will fumish and service used uniforms on a weekly basis, replace lost
or damaged garments, including name plate and City emblem and preparation for new employees.
2. ARAMARK will pick up and deliver at the following locations in the City of Paris:
1) WaterTreatment Plant, 2) Wastewater Plant, 3) Wise Field, 4) City Hall Annex, 5) Water Billing
Office, and 6) Department of Public Works, said locations subject to change to best serve the
employees of CITY.
3. The term of this contract is for a period of two (2) years beginning November 1, 2000,
and ending October 31, 2002. CITY shall reserve the right to terminate the contract at any time due
to non-performance or poor service by ARAMARK. However, CITY has the right to exercise an
option for an additional one (1) year upon the same terms and conditions, which year would begin
November 1, 2002, and end on October 31, 2003.
4. ARAMARK will furnish monthly invoices for services rendered in accordance with
the "Invitation to Bid for Fumishing and Servicing Employee Uniforms for Various City
Departments, The City of Paris, Paris, Texas 75460, October, 2000," attached hereto as Exhibit A,

beCween the terms of Exhibit B and the terms of the City's invitation to bid or this Agreement, this

UNIFORMS
It is estimated that 140 employees will require uniforms from the following departments: Public
Works, Engineering, Parks, Utilities, Water Business Office; Purchasing and Custodial Employees
for the Police Department. Uniforms will be fumished for the period beginning December 1, 2000
through November 30, 2002.
Exact quantities cannot be determined, but estimates aze given as show above. Quantities may be
increased or decreased to meet the requirements fo the various City Departments during the period
shown above.
The successful bidder will be notified in writing when the bid is awarded. Also, a contract will be
prepazed by the City of Paris and awazded to the successful bidder.
PICKUP, DELNERY AND SERVICES
Pickup and delivery points will be at the following locations located in the City of Paris:
(1) Water Treatment Plant
(2) Wastewater Plant
(3) Wise Field
(4) City Hall Annex

BASIS OF ANVARD
The City of Paris reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in bidding and
to awaid the bid as may be advantageous to the City of Paris.
The successful bidder will be awarded a two (2) year contract beginning December 1, 2000, through
November 30, 2002. The City of Paris shall reserve the right to terminate the contract at any time
due to non-performance or poor service by the vendor.
PRICE AND PAXMENT
Bidder is hereby notified that the City of Paris is exempt from State and Locate Sales Tax;
exemption number is 1-75-6000-535-9. A certificate will be fumished upon request.
The City of Paris will be fumished a monthly invoice for services rendered. This invoice shail
include all services rendered for the proceeding month. Payment will be made by the City of Paris
within thirty (30) days after receipt and approval of monthly invoice.
BID FORM
1. All bids must be submitted on an Official City of Pazis "BID FORM".
2. ' The City of Paris will receive an altemate bid for "USED UNiFORMS".
3. Sepazate Bid Forms are fumished in the bid package for quotations for `WEW" and "USED"
uniforms.

UNIFORMS SPECIFICATION
FOR USE IN VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS
GENERAL:
It is the purpose of these specifications to describe "NEW LTNIFORMS"; however, the City of Paris
will receive an alternate bid for PRESENTABLE, DURABLE, and WEARABLE "USED
UNIFORMS"complyingwiththespecifications. A uniform sample must be fumished with the bid.
Eleven (11) sets of uniforms will be provided per employee; where applicable, cotton uniforms wilt
be provided at no additional charge. Preparation chazges will include measurements, installing name
and city emblems, and identification tags on garments. These charges will not be appiied to existing
employees at the beginning of the contract. Each bidder shall provide three (3) references of
customers presently being served by their company. All uniform rvork pants are to be nressed.
Any flaws found in uniforms will be corrected at no cost to the City of Paris.
REGULAR WORK PANTS and REGULAR WORK SHORTS:
