RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
A LEASE ON PROPERTY LOCATED ON PART OF LOTS 6 AND 7, CITY
BLOCK 251A, BEING NUMBER 1231 N. MAIN STREET, PARIS, TEXAS;
MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 26th day of March,
2001, authorize the execution of a Lease Agreement between the City of Paris and Allen Phillips on
property located on part of Lots 6 and 7, City Block 25 lA, being number 1231 N. Main Street, Paris,
Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of May,
2002, grant an Exercise of Option by Allen Phillips to extend the term of the lease for a period of one
(1) year, beginning April 15, 2002, and ending April 14, 2003; and,
WHEREAS, the City Clerk received from Allen Phillips on June 14, 2002, a thirty (30) day
notice to terminate said lease; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore on July 8, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-117,
authorize the advertisement for bids for said lease; legal notice was published, and no bids were
received; and,
WHEREAS, the City staff has received several telephone calls over the last two or three
months from persons who desire to lease this property and it is deemed appropriate to advertise for
bids for lease of said property; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for
bids for a lease on property located on part of Lots 6 and 7, City Block 25 lA, being number 1231
N. Main Street, Paris, Texas, said bids to be received by 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2002,
or at such other date and time as the City Manager may direct, at which time said bids will be opened
in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 135 1 st Street S.E., Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids
will thereafter be tabulated and presented to the City Council for the purpose of letting such bid.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
The City of Paris will receive sealed bids at the office of the City Manager, City
of Paris, 135 1 st Street S.E., P. O. Box 9037, Paris, Texas 75461-9037, for the
lease of property located on part of Lots 6 and 7, City Block 251A, being
number 1231 N. Main Street, Paris, Texas, until Tuesday, December 3, 2002,
at 3:00 p.m., at which time all bids will be publicly opened at the City of Paris
City Hall building, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Texas, read aloud, tabulated, and
referred to the City Council for its consideration.
Information, specifications, and bid forms may be obtained at the office of the
City Manager, City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460.
The minimum acceptable bid on the property will be Three Thousand and
no/100 Dollars ($3,000.00) peryear. All bids shall be accompanied by cash or
certified or cashier's check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less
than one-twelfth (1/12) of the bid amount, payable without recourse, to the
CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, as earnest money and part lease payment.
The City of Paris reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any
informality in bidding, and to award bids as may be advantageous to the City.
Time may be a consideration in the awarding of this bid.
All bids must be submitted on City of Paris bid form.
Note: All blanks on bid form must be FULLY COMPLETED, including delivery
time, brand name, model number and/or series number, and bid price.
