06-D Band Commission (1/6/03) MINUTES
Paris Municipal Band Commission
A meeting of the members of the Paris Municipal Band Commission was held on
Monday, January 6, 2003, at 12 noon, in the boardroom of the Lamar County
Chamber of Commerce.

Tom Nuegent, Paris Municipal Band Director
As the first order of business, the minutes from the previous meeting held on
August 5, 2002, were unanimously approved as submitted.
A few

concerns of the band director were discussed:
A timpani head was damaged last season, but the PHS Band Director said
for us to not worry about having it repaired.
There is a lack of chairs after the City purchased 50 for us last year.
About 25 more are needed.
The Municipal Band has not purchased any music in the past several
years and has been borrowing it from area schools. We may purchase
some music this upcoming year as it is in the budget.
Other discussion surrounded soloists, both instrumental and vocal, to perform
with the band this season.
The next meeting of the Paris Municipal Band Commission will be held on March
5, 2003.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
