03-C Bldg Standards (12/16/02) MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION Monday, December 16, 2002 3:00 P.M. The Building and Standards Commission Meeting was called to order by Chad Brown at 3:00P.M. The roll was called by Brad Archer. The following members were present: Chad Brown Mary Crumpler Brad Archer Lucius Joe, Jr. Harrell Tippitt Ward Hall Pike Burkhart The following members were absent: Tommy Robinson Mark Rothfuss Vic Ressler Billy Hill Introduction to City Staff.' Mr. Tommy Haynes introduced the Commission to the members of the City Staff present at the meeting. General discussion of function of the Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures Ordinance: City Attorney, Mr. Larry Schenk discussed the ordinance and fielded questions from the members of the Commission. Update of status of how the work by the staff will be brought to the Commission: City Attorney, Mr. Larry Schenk described what is to be expected concerning the presentation of cases for consideration by the Commission. Discussion and possible action regarding rules to conduct meetings and public hearings: This issue was tabled and no action was taken. The Commission members felt they did not have the information needed to take action at this time. Reconfirm the time and meeting dates of each meeting: A motion was made by Ward Hall, seconded by Brad Archer that the meeting time and date remain the same. The motion passed unanimously. go Update of status of the City of Paris being designated a certified historical city: Mr. Tommy Haynes explained that the City of Paris has been approved on a State level, and we are currently waiting on approval from the Secretary of the Interior. o Items to be included in the January agenda: The Commission wishes to see examples of rules to conduct meetings and public hearings from other cities. The Commission also requested examples of forms and manuals that may exist at these cities. The Commission may want to take action on adopting these items for their use. 10.
